On this page you'll find some information that you may find helpful in determining what material
you'd like to have for your project.
There are quite a few different materials and finishes available so please have a look to see exactly
what would suite your project and budget and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to
shoot me an email.
PLEASE NOTE: IF no finish is specified in your email, SATIN finish will be applied.
Glossy Pickup rings can not be made in anything thicker than .093" plastics.
I know that may be disappointing, but anything thicker than that, I have to machine the
thickness and I can not "polish" a glossy finish, sorry.
Material Thickness Options
Rings can be made from a 1/16th of an inch up to 1/2" thick and angled as well to meet the
neck angle requirements for proper string alignment.
While this is not always necessary, some players would not even consider a pickup ring that
didn't have this option.
Prices will vary for different materials so please ask if you need thicker and / or angled rings for
your particular guitar.
In most cases, it's a $2 up-charge for each ring.

Pearloids and Tortoise Finishes:
These finishes can be used for truss rod covers, pickup rings, and even rear covers
but a note that pearloids and tortoise finishes re about 3/32nds thick.

Solid Surface material is now available in White
You can get Pickup Rings in white satin/matte finish solid surface synthetic material. This is an
extremely hard material that has the color all the way through so if you would scuff it, scratch it,
or damage it, you can actually sand it right out. Since this can break if it’s cut too thin, this can
not be used for everything, so please inquire to see if it can be used for your project.

Wood Pickup Trim Rings and Truss Rod Covers are now going to be available.
For Pickup Rings, these are just the trim rings that are available, for example:
Kramer 450G and 450B wood rings, EMG 707, and 808 style soapbar type pickups.
Even my “IR” rings for those that are Direct mounting their pickups.
These are available unfinished for your final stains, oils, or clearcoats. It will take me a bit to get
some more options shown here, but for the moment, they’re available in Maple, African Padauk,
Cherry, and Black Walnut. Other woods are possible, please inquire.
Please keep in mind, these are solid wood, so if you crack them by overtightening them,
when installing, I will not be resposible for that damage.
Also, I’m still not making the standard style rings that have height screws holes
because they are just too weak, and will crack if not handled with the utmost care.
